Always required
- Passport — minimum 6 months validity, two blank pages
- Recent colour photograph, plain background
- Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
- Hotel booking or invitation letter
- Active email address
- Card payment for government + service fees
Sometimes required
- Bank statement (last 3 months) — common for European e-visas
- Travel insurance covering medical expenses
- Yellow fever certificate — required for several African e-visas
- Cover letter or itinerary for business e-visas
- Sponsor letter — for visiting friends/family
Country-specific quirks
- UAE: Emirates ID or sponsor visa copy for residence applicants
- India: Last 3 countries visited, religion, occupation
- Türkiye: Existing Schengen, UK, US or Ireland visa for some nationalities
- Sri Lanka ETA: Onward ticket and minimum funds declaration
